WELCOME TO THE ACT NOW! DRAMA COMPANY WEBSITE

"The Act Now! Drama Company have succeeded in producing a very powerful interpretation of the vengeful saga. The strong subject of sacrifice and matricide in Richard Soames clear translation is well executed by a company of 13 talented players at The Courtyard. The rousing final sequence brought the audience to its feet and left many memorable moments in the mind. "

Sessions cover voice, movement, scene/text exploration, improvisation, directing etc.

The genre subject enables all company members to be working on the same topic so that they can build their knowledge on a specific performance related subject and also add selected works by the writer to their repertoire of audition speeches or dialogues. There will also be devising classes not always connected to the genre subject.

There are also occasional Workshops running at Wigmore Hall, St Gabriels Hall, Pimlico and Mycenae House which cover voice, movement, devising and genre subjects including Steven Berkoff, Restoration, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde Scene Study, Jean Genet, Albert Camus, Samuel Beckett  and Greek Chorus Exploration.

ACT NOW's productions have been running since January 2008 with THE TRAGEDY OF FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA, MIND GAMES, THAT HAPPY FEELING!, THE PASSION OF HENRIK IBSEN and COWARD'S WAY, which all ran at The Broadway Theatre Studio. The company performed Sophocles epic Greek Tragedy ELECTRA at The Courtyard Studio, London from March 10th - 12th 2009. They performed SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, exploring Shakespeare's villains and villainesses at The Greenwich Playhouse from July 7th - 12th, 2009.

The ACT NOW! ADVANCED DRAMA CLASSES continue on Thursday January 14th 2010.
